Beat and breaking news reporting

Ongoing coverage of Orange County Schools in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Starting in February 2017, I have reported on monthly Board of Education meetings with over a year of protests from community members, students, and parents to ban the Confederate flag in the school dress code policy. Ultimately, it was banned in August 2017. In January, I covered the enacted Equity Policy and how it would be enforced. In April, I reported on an investigation that upheld a parent’s claims of racial intimidation.
